Pump powered by solar panel

With the River to be fenced off, stock need somewhere else to drink.

Here this is a trough, filled from the River.

Southern Pumps and Irrigation supply and install a complete turn-key solution, comprising submersible pump, panel, controller and associated pipe, wiring etc

Fixed or floating?

Choose from 2 different pumping systems:

• Fixed: the pump is anchored to the bed of the River
• Floating: the pump floats in the surface of the River

Floating is easier to install and service, but unless you have an anchor (eg a rock) in the bed of the river, the pump is prone to getting beached.

Site Selection

Before doing the installation, be sure to identify a suitable site:

• A north facing location for the solar panel, not blocked by trees etc, and above the flood level
• A suitable spot in the river (see more below)
• Ideally, less than 40 metres apart
